Our Commitment

DIYKB, LLC is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level.

Measures We Take

• Semantic HTML structure throughout the Platform for proper screen reader navigation.
• ARIA labels and roles on interactive elements, including modals, dialogs, buttons, and form controls.
• Keyboard navigation support for all core features, including material selection, image upload, and community feed browsing.
• Sufficient color contrast ratios for text and interactive elements per WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
• Alternative text on all meaningful images, including uploaded photographs and generated visualizations.
• Respect for prefers-reduced-motion — all animations are disabled when this system preference is set.
• Responsive design that adapts to various screen sizes, zoom levels, and orientations.
• Focus indicators visible on all interactive elements when navigating via keyboard.

Known Limitations

While we strive for full accessibility, some areas of the Platform may have limitations:

• AI-Generated Images: generated visualizations are complex photorealistic images. While we provide descriptive alt text, the full design detail may not be fully conveyed through text alternatives alone.
• Color Picker: the HSV color picker in our material selector relies on visual color interaction. We provide text-based color input as an alternative.
• Canvas Animations: decorative background animations (e.g., on the homepage) are marked as aria-hidden and have no informational content.
• Third-Party Content: some embedded content from third-party services may not meet our accessibility standards.

Assistive Technology Compatibility

The Platform is designed to be compatible with:

• Screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
• Screen magnification software
• Speech recognition software
• Keyboard-only navigation
• Browser zoom up to 200%
